The Journey Our story
It all started with an encounter over a cup of coffee,
A story of a bridge connecting Japan and Vietnam.
Meeting the perfect cup
While frequently traveling back and forth to Vietnam for work, one day I happened to take a sip of coffee.
The profound aroma and robust flavor left me stunned, and with the thought, "I want to bring this amazing coffee to Japan and let more people know about it," a business specializing in Vietnamese coffee quietly began to take shape.
Years of hardship and searching
For the first few years of our business, we visited farms, roasters, and factories throughout Vietnam. However, at that time, the technology and systems for producing high-quality coffee were not yet sufficient, and we went through continuous trial and error to achieve our desired taste. Despite this, our belief that "Vietnam certainly has coffee that can be proud of on the world stage" never wavered.
Meeting a reliable partner
While traveling throughout Vietnam, I finally met the current producers and roasting team.
From soil preparation to harvesting, refining, roasting, and finally commercialization, we were deeply impressed by their unwavering commitment. We then fully launched product development for the Japanese market with this partner. In this way, our Vietnamese coffee has finally become available for sale in Japan.
The Birth of Tanizaki Coffee Village
To convey the appeal of Vietnamese specialty coffee to a wider audience, we have rebranded our company as "Tanizaki Coffee Village." We have expanded our retail sales channels and established a system to deliver unique specialty coffees to customers across Japan. Furthermore, for wholesale business, we have established a stable supply system, including OEM, for restaurants, hotels, and wedding venues, primarily focusing on French and Italian cuisine.
On to the next challenge
Starting in 2026, we will begin collaborating with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and participate in various activities to further enhance the position of Vietnamese coffee in the Japanese market.
Additionally, we have completely revamped our website. By disseminating a wide range of information, not limited to coffee but also encompassing Vietnamese culture and the sentiments of its people, we will convey the allure of Vietnamese specialty coffee, starting from its origins, to everyone.
